IP JOURNEY GERA
In December 2009, United Generations organized a new intergenerational pilot project: The “Fairytale Journey” for senior citizens from Nuremberg to the christmas market in Gera.
The journey was organized jointly with the NürnbergStift, an administration for nursing homes, and with officials from Nuremberg and Gera. Around 30 participants, children and seniors, enjoyed this fabulous journey.
Invigorated with traditional food from Thuringia, the intergenerational group visited the christmas market in Gera. There was time for reading stories, for a city tour which was organized by kids from Gera, for baking cookies, and for a performance of “The Golden Gospel Choir”.
The journey was organized by members of United Generations. We also invited the VideoFilm Club 50plus and the local TV channel “Offener Kanal Gera” documented some of the highlights.
A video documentation was also presented on March 6 2010 in Nuremberg, which was also attended by officials from Nuremberg.
